KEY ACTIVITIES
In fulfilling its mandate and achieving its objectives, the organization will undertake the following activities as part of its broader efforts to support communities in developing sustainable, reliable, and resilient coexistence with wildlife in Somalia:

Wildlife Research and Advocacy
Conducting scientific research on wildlife and advocating for conservation efforts to protect biodiversity and ecosystems.

Consultancy Services
Providing expert advice and support to organizations, governments, and stakeholders on wildlife conservation, environmental management, and sustainable practices.

Environmental Governance
Developing policies, strategies, and legislations to promote effective environmental management and wildlife protection.

Training
Offering educational programs and workshops to build capacity and knowledge in wildlife conservation, environmental sustainability, and related fields.

Awareness-Raising Activities
Implementing campaigns and initiatives to educate communities and stakeholders about the importance of wildlife conservation and sustainable practices.

Identification of Protected Sites and Potential Wildlife Areas
Mapping and designating protected areas, as well as identifying new sites with potential for wildlife conservation.

Creation of Alternative Livelihoods
Developing sustainable income-generating opportunities for communities involved in bushmeat hunting and wildlife exploitation to reduce dependency on harmful practices.

Monitoring and Evaluation
Assessing the effectiveness of conservation programs and initiatives through systematic monitoring and evaluation to ensure continuous improvement and impact.
During year 2025 Eleven (11) cheetah cubs were rescued from illegal trade in Northern part of Somalia in what a conservationist described on this year as “one of the largest confiscations of the species.”
